10 Most Hyped Video Game Moments That Were Massive Disappointments

1. Pulling The Star Destroyer Out The Sky - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

To this day, I'm baffled quite how LucasArts ballsed up The Force Unleashed quite so much.

Both combat and your actual Force powers were pretty fun to deploy (if not forever paling in comparison to the underrated Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy), but it was the reveal of a Star Destroyer being wrenched out the sky in the debut trailer that instantly became one for the Star Wars history books.

I mean, just look at it:

Can you feel the power of our main-man, Starkiller? Yes, it was pre-rendered, but woah baby, that moment with us at the helm would be even better, surely?

Guess again...

Instead of anything that gave you a feeling of tactility or power, you pulled the Star Destroyer out the sky by awkwardly positioning the two analogue sticks into just the right spot, Starkiller's hands awkwardly jutting to and fro like he was trying to land a plane in a hurricane.

It was like one of those lock-picking minigames from Skyrim or Splinter Cell - a far cry from the sensation that should've come with tearing one of science fiction's most iconic behemoths from the sky and bringing it to ground.
