10 Most Iconic Street Fighter Special/Super Moves

8. Electric Thunder

Used By: Blanka

First Appearance: Street Fighter II

Input: Mash Punches

Throughout the Street Fighter franchise, a variety of different character’s have unique moves which are executed by simply mashing all the punch or kick buttons on your controller. Other iconic examples include the ‘Hundred Hand Slap’ used by Japanese Sumo Wrestler E. Honda, and the ‘Hyakuretsukyaku’ (or ‘Lightning Kick’) used by Chinese Interpol Officer and Martial Artist Chun-Li.

However, there is something extra special about seeing a big green beast-man with large pointy orange hair powering up so much that he can generate an electrical charge from his body. That is the sight which greets players when fighting the feral Brazilian warrior known as Blanka.

This move has been a classic staple of Blanka’s moveset since his debut in Street Fighter II along with other technique like his ‘Rolling Attack’. It requires a decent amount of skill to be utilised effectively, unlike the other moves of its kind. This is due to the damage being dealt on contact with Blanka’s own body instead of from a series of punches or kicks coming out of his body. While this can be fine against certain characters, any projectile attacks would be given a clean opening if Blanka uses this move at the wrong moment.
