10 Most Impressive Open World Video Games Since 2010
3. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
Breath of the Wild is the epitome of exploration games. The world is vast and incredibly varied with a unique art style that simply pops. Trekking through the game is a joy especially considering just how many options you have to get from point A to B.
Whether you decide to use your horse, glide, climb or engineer some Macgyver-esque contraption to fling yourself into the next solar system, the game just allows you to go crazy.
The game excels when the player is picking a direction and fumbling their way to whatever destination they give themselves. It's a game that wants you to see something interesting in the distance and just make your way over to it.
Other aspects of the game are somewhat weaker with the combat being hit or miss (despite being every bit as varied!). Certain mechanics can become repetitive the longer you play, with the mantra of more is better being prevalent. However, the game only dips when it takes the player away from exploring it's rich and detailed world.
