10 Most Overrated Nintendo Switch Games

9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition

Animal Crossing New Horizons
Nintendo

Just to be clear, Mario Kart is great and lots of fun for everyone; in many ways if you've never played a video game it's the perfect place to start. However...

It's currently the best selling game on the system (It did come free with a lot of consoles), but it isn't exactly the most ground breaking game, even within its own franchise. Double Dash and DS as well as 7 did more to push the series forwards, this one hasn't built on anything that we haven't seen before.

You know what you'll get before you pop the cartridge in place: Grand Prix, Vs, Battle, and Time Trials. It's the prettiest game in the series and you do get some extra tracks and characters, but with the exception of hover wheels (that don't affect the gameplay in any meaningful way) there's nothing new at all.

There are so many games on the Switch that are tremendous, accessible fun and have really pushed the boundaries, it's just baffling why this one is the most popular. Here's hoping Mario Kart 9 includes a few new modes.
