Nero tried to hide his demonic nature from the songstress Kyrie, but he couldn’t keep it a secret forever. The pair were brought together as children, when Kyrie’s family adopted the mysterious renegade, and they have been inseparable ever since.

Romance eventually blossomed, which would set into motion Devil May Cry 4’s main story arc. During a church service no less, Kyrie was kidnapped by the deceitful antagonist Sanctus. Nero would bravely step up, and despite his lack of experience fighting demons, he embarks on a death-defying quest to save his love.

After battling through hordes of demons, the player will be reunited with Kyrie during the last mission of the game. The captor will threaten to slay her, in an attempt to deter Nero from moving forward. However, Nero proves too cunning and in a final deft slash, the brute is defeated.

Upon rescuing Kyrie, the pair move in together. This moment is made incredibly touching, given what they’ve both been through. Let’s hope that after all this monster killing then, they finally get to enjoy each other’s company kidnap free for a while.
