10 Most Powerful Card Effects In Magic The Gathering

If you’ve never been a fan of the long grind to whittle your opponent down, and if mill has never been for you, there are certain card effects which give you a different way of winning. Yes, some cards in Magic the Gathering allow you to straight up win the game without any sort of interaction, or at least a much smaller one, with your opponent.

From the planeswalker Vraska who has at least two forms which give her ways of getting this instant win to enchantments like Barren Glory which are near possible to pull off, there are a great number of ways to completely cheese yourself to a victory. These effects are often difficult to pull off, though they’re certainly not impossible. Jace, Wielder of Mysteries for example has you plan your ultimate for when you have exactly 7 cards in your library so that the ability perfectly wins the game for you.

These abilities add a new flavour to the game and, while they’re certainly overpowered, adding a new type of win condition always leads to fun and memorable games.
