10 Most Ridiculous Things You Did For Gaming

6. Spending Actual Money On Bonus Content/Maps/Characters

Earlier, I alluded to the argument that Limited Edition copies of games with additional content was a hindrance to the standard version. And this could not be more apparent than DLC that offered no tactical or gameplay advantage, but was visually pleasing.

Video game developers are totally within their rights to push out and sell additional content to gamers - especially when it's content that can enhance the experience further than originally intended. The Mass Effect trilogy did this brilliantly - new characters, maps and even whole story lines actually changed some outcomes of the game.

Whereas the re-skins one would download in the Batman: Arkham Series or Star Wars: Force Unleashed games were a shocking and insulting waste of money. Want to play as Christian Bale's Batman in the Arkham Games? Of course you do! But no way is it any different to the standard skin you've been currently playing as.

The trouble is, we're aware of this and gotten so used to it that we should know better. But we kept coming back - downloading and installing mini DLC packs that effectively offered nothing, but made somehow convinced us we were exploring more qualities of what the game had to offer.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
