10 Most Shocking Moments In Mortal Kombat History
6. Revealing Noob Saibot's Identity
If you win a series of matches in a row in Mortal Kombat II, you will face the shadow ninja, Noob Saibot. Despite the fact MKII has two other secret characters, Smoke and Jade, Noob Saibot was the one who fascinated players the most. Who is he? Is he human? Is he a boss for an upcoming game?
This elusive fighter returned in MK3 and MK4 but little to nothing was revealed about his backstory. Only in Mortal Kombat: Deception was it revealed that Noob is actually the original Sub-Zero, Bi-Han.
When Scorpion was convinced Bi-Han murdered his family, the spectre killed Sub-Zero during the first Mortal Kombat tournament. Sub-Zero's spirit was so consumed with vengeance, he was transformed into a literal shadow of his former self.
As shocking as this revelation was, gamers should've figured this out much sooner. Noob looks exactly like Sub-Zero except his robes are black. In Sub-Zero's MKII ending, it is revealed that the original Sub-Zero has gone missing and so, was replaced with his younger brother, Kuai Liang.
Considering we learn the original Sub-Zero has gone missing EXACTLY when a new ninja resembling Sub-Zero appeared makes you realise how obvious this twist should have been.
