10 Most Terrifying Enemies In The Fallout Franchise

2. The Master

The Master is your primary foe in the original Fallout. His goal was to use the Forced Evolutionary Virus, a manmade bio-weapon that turned regular humans into mutated monstrosities, to carry out the destruction of all remaining humans across North America with an army of super mutants at his side.

The Master himself is a horrible mishmash of human and mutant body parts, as well as being partly techno-organic as part of an elaborate Vault computer. The graphic when you speak with him is a Cronenbergian nightmare and he varies between four voices as he speaks. It really is skin-crawling.

The Master was created when he was submerged into a vat of FEV for a week, an accident that greatly increased his intelligence and unlocked psionic abilities. He's not the most ethical of creatures, even for the post-apocalypse, and he thought nothing of combining various creatures and captive humans into vats of FEV to see what kind of results he would get.

When you finally encounter The Master in Fallout's endgame, he has completely integrated into a Vault under what was Los Angeles, his human form more or less gone along with his sanity.

His death at your hands is a blessing should you choose to kill him.
