10 Most Under-Appreciated Video Games Of 2018

4. Ni No Kuni 2

Batman The Enemy Within
Level-5

A sequel to Sony's breakout JRPG was never a sure thing, but low and behold we got it. Ni No Kuni 2 is a beautiful RPG that lacks the heart of the original but makes up for it with more gameplay mechanics and a more robust world.

If you never played the original, Ni No Kuni was a mesmerising JRPG that tasked you with collecting Familiars, then battling in turn-based combat - much like Pokemon and Persona. What really set Ni No Kuni apart however, was its heart-wrenching story, told with Studio Ghibli animated cutscenes. It was endlessly charming.

The sequel features even better gameplay, a more interesting world, lots more familiars, and a fun town-building mode. Yes it missed the Studio Ghibli cutscenes and the touching story, but Ni No Kuni II was one of 2018's finest RPG's, Japanese or otherwise. If you find yourself in need of something to play before the big releases of February, consider picking-up Ni No Kuni II.
