10 Obscure Video Game Movie Tie-Ins You Had No Idea Existed

1. The Ring: Terror's Realm

The Ring was based on a series of Japanese novels, which added a lot of scientific mumbo jumbo to the idea of the cursed videotape. The movie’s mostly ditched this stuff since it wasn’t very interesting, but the Dreamcast game adaptation decided to dive into it; the first of many, many mistakes.

Terror’s Realm follows the lead character as she investigates the death of her boyfriend, which is linked to a mysterious computer program called RING. What follows is a depressingly mediocre survival horror game where the player wanders around a large building shooting monsters, trying to figure out where to go next since the whole thing is so dark and murky.

The graphics are clunky, the voice acting horrid (even by the low standards of Resident Evil) and the story is just baffling. Sadako shows up for a boss battle at the end, where she bounces around and whips her deadly hair at you while you blast around with a shotgun; just... like... the movie?

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
