10 Obscure Video Game Movie Tie-Ins You Had No Idea Existed

Some movies are easier to translate to games than others; Aliens is easy – which has been proved by the 927 games based around it while something like 12 Years A Slave or Sophie’s Choice would be considerably harder.

White Men Can’t Jump would fall somewhere in-between. Sure, the movie is about basketball but it’s more of a drama about male friendship, relationships, and ego, which hardly makes it ideal video game fodder. The developers pressed ahead anyway, releasing a White Men Can't Jump game for the ill-fated Atari Jaguar, a full three years after the movie came out.

The game itself is an assault on the senses, with blocky graphics that make it hard to tell what you’re even looking at, and the Jaguar’s trademark horrible control scheme drains any sense of fun out of a typical basketball match. Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson are nowhere in sight, and the game has the dubious honour of being considered the worst to be released for the console; which is really saying something.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
