6. Sinistar Sinistar
RUN COWARD! If youve ever heard this, you know how terrifying Sinistar is. Ostensibly just a collection of pixels on an arcade screen, he holds a special place in many gamers hearts. Basically the angriest spacecraft to ever grace the world of games, Sinistar is built up while you attempting to find Sinibombs the only thing that can stop His Angriness by cracking apart planetoids. As such, Sinistar pervades every minute of this ridiculously hard game. Hes always off in the background, being built up so he can appear and eat your spaceship. For such an early game, this is a masterpiece of design Sinistar is always there even when he technically isnt, building up your fear of him throughout. When he does finally appear, its just as frenetic as you might think. Youve gambled to fight him, either appearing early so hes not as prepared, or late on, weaponed-up to the hilt but facing a far more dangerous enemy. Either way round, if he touches you, youre dead. And the screaming. Oh god, the screaming. If things werent tense enough as it is, this spaceship a bloody spaceship(!) is screaming at you all the time. Just terrifying.
