10 PlayStation Problems Sony Want You To Forget
4. Completely Wasting The PS Vita
The PS Vita was the follow up console to the successful PSP, marking Sony's continued push into the handheld market.
The console boasted solid games and graphical power that made fans excited for its debut, however there were several reasons why the system just didn't pop the way Sony had hoped.
One of the biggest killers was the rise of smartphones, combined with the high price of the console meant that there just was not the demand that Sony had expected. Again, Sony found themselves with an idea not working the way they hoped, and they failed to show faith and stick with it.
Instead, Sony abandoned the console and ultimately scuppered their opportunity to compete in the handheld market. With the momentum from the original PSP this was a real chance for Sony to create a long lasting foothold with handheld gamers.
This didn't happen, the Vita fizzled out and Sony abandoned the console without putting up much of a fight.
