10 Pointless Video Game Mechanics Nobody Used
3. Bone-Charm Crafting - Dishonored 2
Whilst it seems like a neat idea, the bone charm crating wasn't as useful as it made out. Unless you were one of those people who enjoy refining their character to the extreme, adding the tiniest buffs until you were the best of the best, the mechanic was useless.
Fundamentally, it came down to the fact that by the time it became useful, the game was over. Bone-charms were random, so there was no way to plan your character around them. You picked them up as you went. So, chances were you'd only really gather a couple really useful ones over the game.
And then there was the fact that bone-charm crafting was a purchasable skill. A skill that was put up alongside becoming a smoke monster and being able to clear a room with one crossbow bolt. Try as they might, arts and crafts don't compare to supernatural badassery.
