3. Captaincy
Serious question, but is this even a thing in player career mode? If it is a real thing, it can only happen arbitrarily. While the role of the modern day captain might be downplayed by many, having a true leader on the field wearing the armband can drive even the most mediocre team to greatness. Deep down, we all want to be that leader, even in the world of FIFA.
Captaincy could be negotiated in contracts, or something to do with tenure. It may be difficult to wrestle the armband from a Gianluigi Buffon or a Philip Lahm for example. But with some big clubs seeing their captains getting to the end of their career, or about to move onto pastures new, there are opportunities to be had to skipper some big clubs for a long time.
For some, they'd be happy to enjoy the visual of their player leading the team out in a derby, a cup final or a league decider. For others, they may use it to take all the corners, or step up to take that crucial last minute penalty to win the game. Whatever the desire, it would be nice to feel like it's something you're working towards, and not just something you might get accidentally at some point.
