10 Promising First & Third-Person Shooters Coming In 2022

Shadow Warrior is a first person shooter game series that follows a modern ninja warrior battling his way through hordes of demons and monsters. The original game was released in 1997 on PC, as developer 3D Realm's follow up to their iconic game, Duke Nukem 3D. In 2013, Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog revived Shadow Warrior with a new entry for modern systems, featuring enhanced visuals and new gameplay mechanics.

This entry spawned a 2016 sequel and we have since had confirmation of a third game to be released in 2022. Taking control of series main protagonist Lo Wang, players will return to the signature chaotic combat of the previous games but with some additional features.

Shadow Warrior 3 will introduce all-new movement systems to the series, with Lo Wang now able to wall run, double jump, air dash and utilize a grappling hook, because all modern first person shooters must have one after all.

Leaning into the carnage that makes the series great, game designer Paweł Kowalewski has stated that there is an emphasis on over-the-top action and will leave players feeling 'overpowered'. There is no specific release date just yet but keep a look out for Shadow Warrior 3 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC at some point this year.
