10 PROVEN Ways To Get Into The Gaming Industry

5. Willingness To Learn Over Pre-Established Knowledge

Unlike 2Pac, this one’s on the biggie side.

Because technology changes so frequently, with an almost nebulous “current industry standard” to adhere to (trust me, by the time you’ve learned the latest tricks, they’ll be outdated, with everyone screaming “OLD!”, like a Reddit meme enthusiast reading a Ladbible Facebook post), not many recruiters will expect you to know every bleeding-edge technique in the recently-printed book.

Instead, those same recruiters will use a keen eye and intuition to see if you have key fundamental skills to which you can add to.

In fact, some studios tend to use bespoke engines anyway, so the chances are there’s no way you could know everything you need to know - and that’s worth remembering if you’re on the fence about applying for fear you don’t know enough.

So long as you want to learn, and keep an open mind, you’ll go far. Take a leap of faith!
