10 PS1 Games That Completely Messed With Your Mind
2. Vib-Ribbon
Vib-Ribbon suffers from being a very interesting game released at the end of a console's lifecycle, with the title not earning a western PS1 release until the PS2 had been on the market for 6 months. A truly unique concept for the time, the game is an example of developers really pushing a console and being inventive with what can be achieved. Players control Vibri, a stickman-style rabbit in an attempt to avoid various wire-drawing obstacles and pitfalls.
What makes this game different is that it is in essence a customisable rhythm game. By default the games obstacles are synced with music in the game, with 7 pre-loaded tracks, however, the genius of this game comes in the ability to use your own music. Once loaded, the developers had been able to cram the entire game onto the PS1's extremely limited RAM memory, the player could then eject the disk and replace it with their own music CD. The game would then become playable with the layout of stages adjusting to the user's choice of early 2000s music, be it Limp Bizkit or Ricky Martin.
