6. Dealing With The Alien - Alien: Isolation
Alien: Isolation is a stunning game. An incredibly faithful adaptation of Ridley Scott's original sci-fi horror, the title swapped the action-focus the franchise was previously known for in favour of a claustrophobic game of cat and mouse against a single xenomorph.
Even better, said monster is one of the most sophisticated predators in all of gaming, built around an intensely complex A.I. system that actually gives it two different brains, so that players can predict its movements enough to get through levels, but for there also to be an element of unpredictability that means you never get to feel safe.
Sadly though, the xeno is a bit too good at his job. He will find you, and he will kill you. A lot. To the point where it kinda becomes more frustrating than it is scary. While his appearance in the first few hours inspires total dread, the alien kind of becomes an annoyance later on. There's only so many game over screens you can take before you just peace out on the whole experience entirely.
