I don't know whether it's because of the weapons, the animations or feedback that makes killing in Doom feel so satisfying, but it manages to have a great sense of reward when wasting other players. While it's always good to win in a battle against someone else online, the spectacle of Id Software's new game ensures that every kill feels like a monumental victory.

Maybe it's because the stakes are so high or because even a seemingly easy firefight can turn on you in the blink of an eye, but every time you pull off a kill in Doom's multiplayer it feels like you've accomplished something.

And that's without even mentioning the epic glory kills that you can perform when an enemy is near death. Work a player down until they're low on health, perform a melee attack and your character will start a brutal beatdown that never ends in anything less than a gloriously bloody mess.
