10 Reasons Nintendo Have Us WORRIED
3. Leaving Games To Languish In Wii U Purgatory
Since 2017's Breath of the Wild, thirteen big Wii U games have been ported to Switch. Some sold in the millions, like Pikmin 3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe straight-up became the best-selling game on Switch and the top-selling Mario Kart game ever.
In early 2021, anticipation online was high as the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda approached. Everyone expected Nintendo to announce a smash-hit triple pack of games like Super Mario 3D All-Stars. The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword were going to make for one huge Zelda celebration! In HD! With traditional controls - Wii waggling optional!
But then 2021 came... and went. Nintendo dropped a HD version of Skyward Sword, a themed pair of Joy-Cons, and a Zelda (with Loftwing) amiibo. That was it. Oh, and a Game & Watch.
Worse still, there's Star Fox Zero, Yoshi's Wooly World, and Xenoblade Chronicles X stuck in Wii U purgatory. Switch is the definitive Nintendo system, and getting these final few games ported would make it nigh-on perfect.
