10 Reasons Nobody Cares About The Kinect

5. Erratic Behavior

I€™m a Dragonball fan, so when the Kinect was released, I always joked how hilariously awesome a Dragonball game for it would be. This month, such a game was released in the form of the unsurprisingly titled Dragonball Z for Kinect. Upon its release, however, it was soon revealed that the game has its fair share of problems, of which the worst is its inability to register many of the moves. The system is completely erratic, as sometimes it registers moves, other times it doesn€™t. What€™s the point of a Dragonball Kinect game if it doesn€™t even play right half of the time? This game highlights a big problem with the Kinect: the inconsistency of the device€™s ability to register moves of relative complexity. Some games, like many of the dance games, work remarkably well. Others, however, range from erratic to unplayable. I€™m not sure whether fault lies with the Kinect itself or the programming of the games, but when your games rely on the device operating perfectly, even the slightest hiccup in performance can be game breaking. It can be so bad that it puts you off from playing Kinect games at all.
