10 Reasons Video Games Make You Worse at Life

3. Makes You Feel Secure

In a video game you control the protagonist. So right off the bat you are automatically a boss. Everything revolves around you and your journey is made quite clear. You know what you have to do and you set out to do it. Every character acknowledges you and is always willing to help unless they are an enemy which you subsequently kill. You get free stuff, and are given great advice, usually at no or little cost. Flip the switch to life and everything is complicated. You haven€™t the slightest idea of what you want to do, and you have no idea where to go. In some cases you don€™t even know who you really are. Nothing is free; in fact everything continues to get inflated in price. Advice from experts, or learning about anything costs money. And whenever you do set out on a journey, everyone and their grandmother tells you that it€™s not worth it because you will fail. How€™s that for confidence? And the people you encounter every day: forget about it. There are so many people so full of themselves, any opinion or €˜facts€™ they give you is completely biased. It€™s a world full of chaos and complexity that really makes even the sharpest people think twice before doing something.
