Quite possibly the most criminal omission from a basic gameplay perspective is the fact that you can't shoot and drive. That's right, despite being a basic aspect of the sandbox action game for well over a decade, Ubisoft opted not to include it, the speculated reason being that it's to encourage us to use the hacking tools on offer, such as raising bollards and messing with traffic lights. Again though, this game of all games should be about freedom, and while this notion holds true in the on-foot missions, where we're (mostly) allowed to choose between being stealthy or playing as Rambo, for the game to limit our vehicular combat options so much is idiotic and totally misguided. Plus, if the hacking options are good enough (which they pretty much are), we'll use them a lot anyway, right? Though in honesty, we would still pick the gun over hacking pretty much every single time, and as a result it's ridiculous that this basic choice is taken away from us. There's not a single rational excuse for it. It's particularly infuriating during one late-game mission where you're required to take down a rogue fire truck: as shooting its tires out isn't an option, it ends up being an extremely laborious trial-and-error mission as you wait for the fire truck to fall into the right trap.
