10 Reasons Why Sea Of Thieves Deserves A Second Chance

8. You Don't Need To Deal With Griefing

Being a shared online world, it’s likely you won’t be the only crew sailing the seas on your server. In fact, given how Rare manipulate servers so that other players will be around, it’s almost guaranteed you’ll encounter another crew during your session.

While it’s entirely possible the pirates you’ll meet will be happy enough doing their own thing or even offer to join forces in an alliance, not all crews will be so kind. The game has “thieves” in its name for a reason, after all - and there are plenty of players who will make it their sole mission to plunder your hard-earned loot and make your session as miserable as possible.

Thankfully, though, there are preventative measures to deal with the crews who'll pursue you relentlessly or set up camp on your own ship. By voting to scuttle your ship, you effectively press the reset button and spawn at a new location far from the spoilsports (at the sacrifice of any loot on your ship, of course).

Rare have even added checkpoints in Tall Tales now, meaning that you don’t need to start all over again if you’re unjustly sunk after sinking hours into the quest.
