10 Reasons Why Sea Of Thieves Deserves A Second Chance

9. You CAN Play Solo

Make no mistake, Sea Of Thieves is undoubtedly best experienced with others, but that doesn’t mean you can’t - or shouldn’t - set sail alone.

While sailing a four-person galleon is virtually impossible as a solo player and only recommended if you want to see how fast you can sink, smaller, more agile sloops are best suited for one or two players. Although it only has one sail and two canons, everything you need for effective sailing is right at your fingertips. Raise the anchor, drop and adjust the sail, and set a course in a matter of seconds without having to run around above and below deck. Doing these actions is a lot quicker on a sloop, too, meaning that you’re able to set sail faster than larger crews who could see you as easy prey.

Although solo sloopers are out-manned and out-gunned compared to brigantines and the galleons, the sloop’s small size makes it more manageable during combat situations. Likewise, the game’s clever balancing means sloops can easily gain the upper hand in any scenario. Turning quicker and and moving fastest against the wind, even a seasoned crew will have a hard time catching your sloop if you're smart.
