6. Every Class Is Fun And Worthwhile - (Even The Medic)
Always the bane of any multiplayer class-based shooter - that emergence of the one denomination nobody wants to be, let alone get designated as over time. Evolve really comes into its own after you get a feel for who you like playing as (out of a choice of 12) alongside which abilities you feel most comfortable deploying out in the field. There's the gun-heavy Assault class who can lead the charge, the Support who shields other party members at just the right moment, the Trapper necessary to keep the Monster from fleeing and the Medic who depending on who you're playing as, can heal from great distances alongside deploying mists that fix up the whole team in one go. You can tell Turtle Rock have studied where other games go wrong - especially for the support classes - as alone you'll get mulched by the Monster at every opportunity, but working as a unit you stand a very good chance of taking it down with relative ease - especially on the first level of evolution. 'Playing your class' most definitely applies, but when the support classes have access to sky-drop missiles and the medic doesn't need to be forever standing still holding down a button to contribute, it keeps the action frantic whilst also making everyone feel like they're doing something worthwhile.
