10 Reasons You're Wrong About Evolve

7. Its Second And Third Impressions Are Better Than The First

The best things in life are acquired tastes, and although Evolve does start out by plonking you right in the leathery feet of the hulking Goliath, it takes a good few matches to really get into the swing of things. First of all, the aiming as the Hunters is pretty twitchy and responsive in comparison to say Destiny, but after some minor tweaks in the options and your first deployment alongside other fellow newbies, you'll easily get the hang of things like the momentum needed to get across great distances with the jetpack and how to juggle the amount of Monster-felling abilities at your fingertips. The Monster too feels (and has been described as) just playing as a tank character, but there's plenty more ways you can evade your attackers, especially since you're actually pretty underpowered at the start of every round and need to find food to evolve. There are even stealth attacks to catch prey or Hunters unaware if you want to stick to the shadows, and playing as the Monster after a few rounds opens up some very intricate tactics (like the Kraken's Banshee Mines) that always shake up whatever game mode you're in.
