3. "I'm Talking To A Cuff" - Forspoken

Mr Freeze
Square Enix

Due to Marvel's success over the last 15 years, it's no surprise every tv show, movie, and video game has attempted to emulate elements from the superhero franchise, especially the quippy dialogue. And no game tries (and fails) to cram in quirky banter more than Forspoken.

Luminous Productions' try-hard title revolves around an orphan called Frey, who's inexplicably endowed with eldritch powers from a sentient bracelet called Cuff. (Very relatable scenario.) Even though our heroine is meant to be sassy, her flippant attitude and Joss Whedon-inspired dialogue makes her come across as whiny, selfish, and unlikable.

If you're an optimist, you might think things will pick up once our protagonist starts to embrace her new role as a saviour.

But when Frey utters the infamous line, "Oh, yeah. I'm talking to a f&^%$£g Cuff!" you realise the dialogue is going to be this cringey throughout. After hearing this painful quip, no one would blame you if you decided to play the rest of Forspoken on mute.
