10 Recent Video Games With Disastrous Launches You Didn't Realise Got Fixed
6. Gran Turismo 7
While it wouldn't be fair to say that Gran Turismo 7 launched in a broken state, it did nevertheless invoke the ire of the fanbase through its aggressive inclusion of microtransactions - which were oh-so-conveniently not included in review copies of the game.
Worse still, developer Polyphony Digital reduced the payouts for many races post-release, increasing the player grind for credits and further incentivising them to spend real money on them instead.
An especially huge sticking point for fans was that Gran Turismo 7 also launched without the ability to sell any cars you accrued, as was a most basic feature of the previous games in the series and clearly excluded here to further encourage players to open their wallets.
But in November 2022, almost nine months after release, Polyphony finally buckled and patched in the ability to sell your motors.
The game's microtransaction implementation may still be disappointing, but at least players have considerably greater financial agency without dropping more real-world coin.
