10 Resident Evil Games - Ranked From Worst To Best

8. Resident Evil 5

Released back in 2009, Resident Evil 5 was the long awaited sequel to perhaps the most critically celebrated entry in the entire series, Resident Evil 4. To date, the game has sold over seven million copies worldwide, making it the highest selling game in Capcom's history, and subsequently the highest selling game in the Resident Evil franchise.

The game itself follows Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar, two BSAA members (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) tasked with the investigation of a possible terrorist threat in Kijuju, Africa. Quickly outnumbered, the pair are left to fend for themselves amidst an increasingly hostile environment, orchestrated by an old nemesis, Albert Wesker.

While the game was received positively by critics at the time, it was essentially just a watered down version of its much superior predecessor. In fact, there were several moments from the game that were borrowed directly from Resident Evil 4, including the opening action sequence in which our protagonists defend themselves against an onslaught of advancing enemies in a scene strikingly reminiscent of the village raid from Resi4.
