10 Resident Evil Games - Ranked From Worst To Best
9. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
Sadly, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City was actually
considered a success by Capcom, at least commercially. The game has sold over
two million copies worldwide since it was released back in 2012, making it one
of the highest selling games in the history of the franchise, despite its poor
critical reception.
The game itself is a third-person shooter in which players choose between numerous playable characters, pitting those characters against an array of different enemies, including zombies, Lickers, and Hunters. Additionally, there’s a multiplayer mode in which players are faced against each other, and a co-operative mode in which groups of players must work together as a team.
Despite the multiple gameplay types, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is an absolute disaster, with almost no redeeming qualities. It’s broken, the AI is terrible and the scenarios themselves are shallow and unengaging. It’s been described as an inoffensive shooter by many a merciful critic, but even the shooting is substandard and unsatisfying. In fact, the only reason Operation Raccoon City is ninth on this list instead of tenth, is because it isn’t part of the main series. It’s an utter chore, but it can be ignored, unlike Resident Evil 6.
