5. A Changing World
I really wish that more games could have the courage to have their worlds change dramatically. Have players affect their surroundings in a massive way. An example that comes to mind is Dark Souls, and Anor Londo. Killing Gwynevere reveals the illusion of the city and the entire area changes into its true twilight form. The player is forced to live with that, and there is no way to change it back, beyond starting a new game.
A game as gigantic as Assassin's Creed should shift and work around the player, their actions having meaningful impact on the world around them. If the player decides to kill a pivotal character, that's okay, the world should react and change, not stand oblivious to its existence.
Similarly, as the player progresses through the story, narrative events should do the same. Should a King be killed and a monarchy dissolved, the world shouldn't continue as if its just another day. There should be panic, riots, protests. AC: Unity had such things, but they were more just set-dressing than anything consequential.
The world should noticeably be impacted after any of the aforementioned events. Simple as.
