10 RPGs With Ridiculously Weird Stories

5. Drakengard 3

Developer: Access Games Platform: PlayStation 3 The premise: Much like previous games in the series, Drakengard 3 is focused on hacking and slashing your way through hordes of enemies, along with using magic to ride dragons and crush your foes. Sounds like pretty standard JRPG fare right? Read on... It gets weirder: What makes Drakengard 3 a bit different from its RPG brethren is the main cast. It stars a woman called Zero, who goes on her adventure with one of the strangest bunch of characters in video game history. One is a middle-aged masochist who "likes to be slashed." Another looks like a regular, angular-haired JRPG hero, but "everything he says is wrong." To top it all off, Zero is also accompanied by a wizened old man who is "full of sexual energy." According to promotional material for the game, they're there to satisfy Zero's sexual needs. It makes Dragon Age's romances look positively conservative in comparison.
