10 Rumoured Video Games That Could Release In 2023

4. Skies Of Arcadia

Skies of Arcadia is one of those titles where JRPG fans either love it or they never got around to playing it. It released on the sinking ship that was the DreamCast, was ported to the GameCube and never really stood a chance to become a fully-fledged IP. For RPG fans, it screams wasted franchise potential.

The XboxEra Podcast recently dropped in that they had heard talk of a modern generation remake or remaster. Now, take this with a pinch of salt as anyone can say anything on the internet... but the timing would be perfect. It would fit as part of the trend of GameCube nostalgia.

More than just a matter of timing, as nostalgia sometimes is, it could be illuminating to consider Nintendo's approach to GameCube titles. If they were following the SNES and N64 onto the Nintendo Switch Online service, then the publisher would've so obviously included Metroid Prime in that line-up. Instead, they chose to remaster the game from scratch to presumably (pun intended) prime fans for the newest entry.

One game does not a trend set of course, so taking a look at other remasters from the console that are expected to land this year is telling. Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia? Add Skies of Arcadia to this and that's a trio of underrated JRPG GameCube classics.
