10 Seriously Hard Video Game Bosses That Divide Fans

6. Karstaag - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Sigrun God of War
Bethesda

By performing a series of actions in Skyrim, you can awaken Karstaag's ghost in Castle Karstaag Ruins. Now, if you were expecting some reward for your efforts, you'll have to vanquish the monstrous spirit.

However, felling Karstaag is easier said than done. This supernatural being is at Lv. 90, boasts 4,000 HP, and has a Frost Cloak, which continuously depletes your health bar. If you were hoping to rely on poison and paralysis, they have no effect on him. Also, getting hit by his club and fists hurt. A lot.

Because Karstaag is so barbarically unfair, you may wonder why any player would go against him. Considering your reward is a summon you can only use three times, beating this guy sounds like more trouble than its worth.

But some players NEEDED this fight. Although Skyrim is a masterpiece, you can't pretend you weren't disappointed after facing (and easily defeating) the final boss, Alduin. Because you've been told for 40+ hours Alduin is the be-all-and-end-all, you're expecting a monstrous showdown. Sadly, the confrontation with this so-called ultimate adversary is a total letdown. If you're still sore Alduin didn't provide a challenge, you know where to find Karstaag.

But don't say you weren't warned.
