As the saying goes, "Give man a new piece of technology, and he'll find a way to put porn on it" (or something like that). 'Naked Raider' became the two schoolyard buzzwords that when combined lead to one of the best/worst wild goose chases in gaming history, and there was barely the smallest hint that it was real - such was the internet-less barren wasteland that became the 90's gaming scene. Heresay and rumour were gospel, and what started out as one mod for the PC version of the game (not even remodelling the character, literally just reskinning her upper half to be flesh coloured) soon turned into every male Playstation owner under the sun into buying up all sorts of third party GameSharks or Xploder cheat cartridges, trying desperately to see it for themselves. Fun fact: Lara's missile chest was actually caused by a random bug in the first place - designer Toby Gard reportedly had his character model freak out one day, only for the team to convince him to leave it in.
