The game features hundreds of unique and special events that may catch you by surprise when you least expect it, but even if you feel like you've seen it all, there are still moments that can catch you by surprise.

There are several drugs in the game. Some of them are deadly, like Luciferium, which will kill you if you ever stop using it, while others, like the smokeleaf joints, are safe to use, and they won't even addict your pawns if consumed in moderation.

Except smokeleaves aren't completely safe. And even if you use them responsibly, they can kill your settler!

This is because smokeleaf joints significantly lower your character's consciousness, and if it drops to zero, they die instantly!

For this reason, if you have a slightly injured settler, or they get their consciousness lowered via an event, if you forget to tell them to lay off smokeleaves for a while, they will take their final puff to heaven.

At least they died doing what they loved.
