10 Single-Player Star Wars Games EA MUST Make After Jedi: Fallen Order

8. Imperial Commando

Star Wars Rogue Squadron Reboot
Greg Knight

A spiritual successor to the terrific and difficult Republic Commando, this would, again, be a reboot of sorts for the 2005 game.

Based this time in the era of the Empire, players would take control of an elite stormtrooper squad comprising flame troopers, heavy infantry, biker scout snipers and medics, as your chosen trooper lead stheir AI-controlled squad mates into epic battles against all manner of rebel scum.

Tasked with infiltrating rebel strongholds and putting a violent end to their illegal incursions, the Imperial 501st squad, hand picked by Lord Vader himself, would serve their Empire well in squad-based missions across the galaxy.

Taking note of the positives from such genre entries as Rainbow Six Siege and The Division, players will assess their surroundings and coordinate their attacks in calculated and devastating displays of Imperial supremacy.

One of Republic Commando’s best features was its characters; the quality of the writing and acting ensured we were truly invested in Boss, Scorch, Fixer and Sev’s story, and it is to this standard that Imperial Commando should look.

Action without context gets very dull very quickly (cough *Fortnite* cough), so a title like this should be framed by a meaningful story with ties to wider Star Wars canon.
