10 SOUL-CRUSHING Second Phase Boss Reveals

Any Sekiro fan will tell you that this pants-wetting reveal is one of FromSoft's biggest WTF moments, and by god, it will leave you reeling. 

For the uninitiated, this colossal simian (as the name suggests) is the guardian of The Lotus of the Palace. It will stop at nothing to defend this key item, leading to a taxing boss fight that concludes with Wolf decapitating the beast. 

So that's it? Its head is cut clean off, and you see the "Shinobi Execution" text, so it must be dead, right? No, of course not. What kind of ape do you take this thing for? 

Almost immediately after felling the great beast, the music suddenly erupts, and the boss you just killed grabs its severed head and gets up for round two. It comes at you with a newfound ferocity and a brand-new Vitality bar. 

This reveal not only pulls the rug out from under you but also delivers an incredibly horrifying visual as you battle against a beast that's somehow keeping together while not being together.
