10 Star Trek Holodeck Programs We Want To Experience

6. Vic's Lounge

Had a hard day? Just need to go where somebody knows your name? We'd love to head to a holosuite and forget our troubles at Vic's Lounge. In 1960s Las Vegas, the nights are long, the drinks are cold, but the music's cooler.

Vic Fontaine headlines at the lounge, his silky smooth vocals as warm and welcoming as any flesh-and-blood host. Even better, he has a song for every occasion, with a repertoire that covers some of the best crooner classics. Feeling cheerful? Ask for Come Fly With Me. In the mood for love? Request I've Got You Under My Skin. Feeling blue? Vic's sure to sing The Way You Look Tonight until you're smiling again.

Beyond the music, the casino setting lends the lounge a little shiver of excitement. One minute you could be sipping a drink and swaying to the dulcet tones of Vic, the next you might be wondering if there's any mobster shenanigans unfolding behind the scenes. In fact, the lounge was temporarily taken over by mobsters during Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang, but we think we'd prefer to stay out of that caper. We're here for Vic.

We're not sure if we should be alarmed that Vic can seem a little too self-aware for a hologram at times, but his wise words and casual charm more than make up for it. Besides, at least you'd be sure he'd always know your name.
