10 Terrible Levels In Awesome Recent Video Games
4. The Vault Of Typhon - Immortals Fenyx Rising
Immortals Fenyx Rising was one of 2020's most under-appreciated games, offering up a refreshingly light-hearted riff on the typical Ubisoft collect-a-thon formula.
But like so many Ubisoft games, it also wildly over-extends itself and as such ends up outstaying its welcome, particularly during its painfully distended final section.
After reaching what appears to be the final boss fight against Typhon, you're thrown into one final puzzle-filled vault before getting the opportunity to put the big guy down once and for all.
At this point the game's mostly manageable puzzles become genuinely patience-testing, forcing players to deal with fiddly elements like laser beams, poison gas, shifting gravity, and a few especially unforgiving platforming sequences.
After completing each of the vault's sections, you'll also have to fight a new wave of enemies, ensuring you'll feel well and truly drained before you even throw down with Typhon for a final, definitely final boss battle.
