5. Arendelle - Kingdom Hearts III

Kingdom Hearts III gets so, so much right with its fan-serving themed worlds based on the likes of Toy Story, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Tangled, but perhaps the most anticipated of the lot ended up being a rather damp squib.

Frozen's Arendelle may come complete with a spirited performance of "Let It Go," but a shocking lack of imagination has been put into designing a level that pays homage to the film franchise while actually being fun on its own merits.

Most of the level is spent running up and down the same over-familiar icy mountain environment while completing dull chores, such as picking up Olaf's strewn body parts.

When you factor in that Sora, Donald, and Goofy feel wholly disconnected from the actual story playing out between Elsa and Anna - which, admittedly, is more-or-less a rehash of the first movie's plot - it feels like a half-finished, ironically heartless world that desperately required a creative rethink.
