3. Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Still Youtube's most disliked game trailer of all time, Infinite Warfare landed with a thud, and proceeded to make every wrong move possible over the course of three minutes, twenty-four seconds.

First up, fans hated the fact Activision were yet again chasing a nebulous sense of science fiction for the Call of Duty brand overall. Spaceships, robots and laser weapons had no place in a mainline Call of Duty, and after Advanced Warfare was fine enough, but Black Ops III felt misguided and all over the place story-wise, they'd had enough.

Next was a godawful cover of David Bowie's Space Oddity, kicking in with the memorability of a pub band too many pints in. We then ended on saying a Modern Warfare remake was coming after all... but you'd have to buy the "Legacy Edition" of Infinite to play.

Combined, longtime fans simply threw up the middle fingers en masse, and since then, Call of Duty has been boots on the ground ever since.
