8. Pathologic Remake

The original Pathologic is one of the most underrated games of all time - a unique psychological horror that sees you control three characters to explore a small town blighted by a mysterious plague. With a 12-day time limit, branching narrative, and unsettling atmosphere, it's an intelligent horror that is difficult to compare to anything else.

Well, now it's getting a remake that will update all the weirdness and creepiness of the original for current-gen consoles and PC. Each of the three protagonists has a different view on the story, with some putting the plague down to black magic, while others take a more rational approach. But it's a game where the deeper in you go, the stranger things get, and the town begins descending into madness.

Pathologic comes good on the 'survival horror' label too, as you'll need to eat, sleep and fend off disease if you're to survive. The below trailer doesn't give away much about the game, but is an excellent sample of the strange, off-kilter tone you can expect. Deliciously eerie tune too...
