10 Things Only Animal Crossing Fans Understand

1. When Does It End? NEVER.

If you're a new player to the series, perhaps you've begun to wonder when exactly you've 'completed' an Animal Crossing game? Is it when everybody has a home of their own, the shop's fully upgraded, and all the bridges and major construction projects are done? If you want it to be the end, it can be! The true answer? There IS no end!

Again, with no semblance of plot or real character progression, there's no event that represents the conclusion of your time with your town/island. Endings in Animal Crossing are self-defined. Feel like you've seen all that you wanted to see during this playthrough? Awesome! Now it's time to wipe the slate and start fresh with somewhere new. Want to keep going, but unsure of how much is left to do? Don't worry: there's plenty left you haven't seen.

The games don't prompt you to start anew or to please spare the lives of current villagers by not deleting your save file, it just lets you be who you want to be. There's a beginning, but no actual conclusion. It may not have the closure of most games, but Animal Crossing certainly isn't like most games.
