10 Things The Next Console Generation Needs
4. Better Organised Stores
Quickly boot up your console of choice and head over to the store. You'll find games that are listed by different genres than you'd expect, oddly missing genres, multiple different routes leading to the same list of games, while others seem buried somewhere in the store. And that's without the DLC which, for the past couple of generations, has been listed in its own set of flowing list (always fun when something launches with 187 cosmetic items or songs). In short, it's a mess.
It's simple enough to improve on this, and simplicity is the key. We don't need a section that shows all the DLC for all games, only those that we actually own (even then it's preferable to have these things kept within the game itself). We don't need indie games, exclusives, and backward compatible games to have their own sections. We definitely don't need two sections of trending games separated by whether they're paid or free-to-play. Honestly, who's just playing games because they're popular?
Give us a clean store that allows us to access the content we want fast, see what sales are on, and preorder games we're interested in.
