10 Things We Want To See From Skate 4
1. Retain The Flickit System
Though the Skate series is beloved for its great visuals, accurate representations of skateboarding culture, and enjoyable but challenging gameplay, what set it apart from its contemporaries on release, and what remains its most enduring innovation is that of the flickit control system.
It may seem slightly silly that the entire series' brilliance could be boiled down to the fact that tricks are executed by flicking the analogue stick, but without the flick-it system, it's unlikely that the franchise would have ever developed such a devoted fanbase.
Unlike the arcadey and unrealistic gameplay of its competitors, Skate offered a level of realism that has rarely been matched in a skateboarding title, mainly thanks to the way the control system emulates how tricks would be performed on a skateboard in real life.
For Skate 4 to enjoy the same level of reverence as its predecessors, the Flick it system has to return to offer fans the familiarity of one of the genre's most iconic features.
