6. The Doors Of Pharros - Dark Souls 2

Dark Souls 2 - Doors Of Pharros
FromSoftware

One of the new additions introduced in Dark Souls 2 were Pharros’ Lockstones. These limited items are small stones which, as their description informs us, were created by a traveller named Pharros The Vagabond which are used to unlock his contraptions. These locks are scattered throughout Dark Souls 2 and can provide players with some useful benefits such as revealing secret passages, illuminating dark areas, or regenerating players’ health with a rejuvenating pool of water.

When players eventually reach an area called The Doors Of Pharros, they may be wondering what secrets can be found behind the many doors here, especially huge doors requiring three stones to open.

It turns out, however, that Pharros was also a bit of a trickster. Many locks here will either spring a trap or release more enemies into the vicinity. And opening the doors requiring three locks bodes even worse news as they’ll let loose a hulking Mastodon Guard which players will need to defeat.

It’s not all bad news here, though. Choose the correct door and players will be able to pick up Santier’s Spear, a powerful weapon that will make a fantastic addition to any Souls player’s arsenal.
